A day at Sea World

We were given the opportunity to go to Sea World yesterday, and had a lot of fun with our friends from Buda.

Summer LOVE

As many of you know I spent last summer working at a new ceramic studio in Cedar Park. I had painted pottery 3 times in a week and a half and jokingly commented to the owner that I would need to work here to pay for my new addiction. He took me up on my joke and I love almost every minute of it.

Well earlier this week I went with some "girl friends" from Buda to a new studio to paint some pottery- you know a last hurrah before work officially began. Here are a few snap shops of our fun!

This is the piece I painted!

A 24 hour excursion

One of my very best-est friends in whole wide world came in town last week for a little visit. Here are some of the pictures from our time together.
You might be noticing another child in the picture. That's right it's my niece Emma ( was babysitting for the day). Thankfully they didn't have us out numbered! I also found myself thinking back to those days many years ago when I was teaching a class on babysitting. Thankfully I didn't have to think too hard since I had a great mom around!

This is a picture of the girls after our outing to IKEA.
Here is a cute mother daughter picture!
Grace loved playing with Samson!
BUT Samson loved the turtle better!

Quincy definitely didn't understand WHY they were leaving- already.

This is a picture of the girls after Megan and Quincy left. We were all exhausted from our 24 hour excursion but don't worry the other girl is taking the picture and didn't get to rest. Boy do I have a better appreciation for all you stay at home mom's out there. It really is a job all by itself!

A CLOSE SECOND

This is a picture (not nearly as pretty as my superchick blogger friend) for my Dur'Dutchmen friends. And for those of you who have not experienced this little Amish restaurant in Plain City Ohio- you need too! It is better than a Cracker Barrel experience. There is a huge restaurant, then a separate bakery, and a 2 story shopping extravaganza.
I fell in love with these homemade baked fresh everyday chocolate peanut butter heaven cookies that I had to try my hand at making some (without the secret recipe) after feeling a little "second" home sick.
I have also "invented" (I think) a new twist on rather famous cookie I love, but I want to see IF I can get it published in a cookbook or magazine before sharing with all my blogger friends. I'll keep you posted with what happens!

I had a little turtle...

it's name was Franklin Jr. and now after 10 years of having a turtle(s) named Franklin and Franklin Jr. 1,2,3, and who knows I've lost track- I am asking for your help!

I know you may be wondering why don't you let the kids decide? Well at the beginning of the school year (which is upon us very soon!) everyone asks and I don't want to say I don't know yet, etc. It's also hard on my little babies when they feel so passionate about a "name" that they want but doesn't get picked in a vote. So I am leaving it up to you!

Here are a few I have thought of- let me know what you think!

A summer picinic

The fam went to a school picnic to meet and greet the parents and kids of Teravista last night. It was a nice evening and wasn't too terribly hot either!

Dad was in charge of the four legs and said only 1 kid came and actually petted Grace. Dad said, "I think she was too excited and too hot to handle people." Can you blame her?

50 isn't old...

IF you are a tree!

We surprised Mike with a 50th birthday party last night. However the real surprise was that the Wii was the biggest entertainment and hit amongst the Baby Boomers!
